Phonics Focus: targeted practice stories for a new skill.

Best for introducing or drilling a specific pattern. You build a custom word bank below, and we write a short, fully decodable story that practices the patterns you're working on — and keeps everything else out. Every word is checked against your settings before you see it.

  1. For each sub-scope below, tap to choose Focus (drilled hard in the story), Known (allowed to appear naturally), or Unknown (kept out entirely).
  2. Mark at least 1 Known pattern (the carrier words the story is built from) and pick 1–10 Focus patterns — the skills your student practices in this story.
  3. Add a topic and length in the next steps, then generate.
Fluency Review: longer reads for building reading fluency.

Once a student can decode a set of patterns, they need mileage. Fluency Review writes longer, expressive stories using only patterns they've already mastered — so reading stays smooth and confidence grows.

  1. Known patterns are always included — they form the core vocabulary of the story.
  2. Optionally tick Areas of Focus below to weave in patterns you're still practicing.
  3. Use Customize scope selections (Advanced) to fine-tune exactly which patterns appear, then set a topic and length and generate.

The writing flip-side of reading. We build a silly decodable scaffold with blanks, each one targeting a Focus pattern. Your student spells their own word into every blank — practicing the same skills from the spelling direction, matched to what they were taught.

  1. Mark the sub-scopes you want the blanks to target as Focus.
  2. Choose how many blanks (4–8) — each blank pulls from one of your Focus patterns.
  3. Generate, then have your student read the story and spell a fitting word into each blank.
