For everyone who teaches reading.
Whether at home, in a classroom, or one-on-one. PhonoLogic generates decodable stories aligned to the phonics a student has actually been taught — with every word validated against their scope before it reaches the page.
Built for Parents, Teachers, and Tutors.
Each with different needs, same phonics-first toolkit.
A complete reading toolkit that grows with your child
Most reading apps guess at what your child can handle. PhonoLogic checks every word in a story against the 116 phonics patterns your child has been taught. If a word isn't in their range, PhonoLogic rewrites it before they see the story.
How it works
Find their reading level
A free, five-minute assessment shows you exactly which phonics patterns your child knows and which ones they're ready for next. No account needed. Results are emailed to you right away.
Practice with stories, flashcards, and pseudowords
Generate stories built only from words your child can decode. Add flashcard decks for tricky patterns. Use pseudoword ("silly word") practice to check whether your child is actually decoding new words on their own.
Track progress and know when they're ready
Word-by-word tracking shows exactly what's mastered. A readiness algorithm tells you when your child is ready for the next reading level. Coaching tips suggest what to practice next.
A structured literacy toolkit for your whole classroom
Finding decodable texts that match exactly what you're teaching this week is exhausting. Writing them yourself takes hours. PhonoLogic gives you validated stories, assessments, flashcards, and curriculum tracking, so you can spend your time teaching, not hunting for materials.
How it works
Assess and set up your class
Add students individually or in bulk. Run story-based assessments or set reading levels for the whole class at once. PhonoLogic tracks where each reader is and predicts when they're ready for the next level.
Generate stories, flashcards, and practice materials
Select the phonics patterns you're teaching this week. PhonoLogic builds validated stories, pseudoword flashcards, and real-word decks, all matched to your scope and sequence. Print or use online.
Track progress and report on curriculum
See which patterns your class has mastered and which need reteaching. Curriculum expectations are tracked automatically against Ontario standards. Export data as CSV for IEP documentation and progress reports.
Session-ready materials for every client, every time
Each client walks in at a different reading level and needs different practice. PhonoLogic gives you validated stories, targeted flashcards, assessments, and progress reports, all matched to wherever each client is right now. Less prep, more teaching.
How it works
Assess and set up each client
Create a profile for each student. Run a story-based assessment to find their reading level, or set it manually. PhonoLogic remembers their pattern history, trouble words, and learning plan between sessions.
Generate stories, flashcards, and decoding practice
Before each session, generate a validated story targeting the patterns this client needs. Add pseudoword flashcards to test real decoding and real-word decks built from their trouble words. Print or use online.
Track progress and report to families
Track word-by-word progress across sessions. Generate print-friendly reports that show families what their child is working on, what they've mastered, and what comes next. Per-client dashboards give you the full picture at a glance.
What you get.
Four things PhonoLogic delivers that off-the-shelf reading apps don't.
Aligned to what you actually taught
Every word in every story is validated against the phonics patterns your student has been taught — not a grade-level guess. Off-scope words are caught and rewritten before the story reaches the page.
Fresh content, every session
No more recycled worksheets. A student never has to see the same passage twice unless you want them to, so the practice stays interesting and the text stays honest about what they can decode.
Your sequence, your rules
Pick the level, toggle the subscopes in and out, or bring your own list. UFLI, Orton-Gillingham, Fundations, or a custom sequence — PhonoLogic respects the plan you're already teaching from.
Data that earns its place
Every story a student reads feeds into word-level mastery tracking, pattern-level focus areas, and a readiness signal for when to move up a level. Print-ready for IEPs and family reports.
What it does, and what it doesn't.
We'd rather set honest expectations than oversell.
What PhonoLogic does
- Generates decodable stories validated against a hand-curated 50,000+ word phonics wordbank
- Respects your scope and sequence — UFLI, Orton-Gillingham, Fundations, or your own
- Story-based assessment that pinpoints level and focus areas in five minutes
- Flashcards and pseudoword practice that test real decoding, not memorization
- Word-by-word progress tracking and a readiness signal for when to move levels
- Curriculum mapping to Ontario standards, CSV export for IEPs and reports
- Layered content safety — age-appropriate themes enforced through prompt rules and Google's safety classifiers
- COPPA-aligned data handling for students under 13
What it doesn't do
- Replace a trained teacher, tutor, or interventionist — we support instruction, we don't deliver it
- Teach phonics from scratch — we generate practice; the explicit instruction still happens with a human
- Diagnose dyslexia or other learning differences — that's the job of a qualified specialist
- Read to your child or provide audio narration — PhonoLogic is for students who are learning to decode
- Cover comprehension strategy instruction — our focus is decoding accuracy and fluency
- Support languages other than English — yet. French is on the roadmap
- Promise 100% catch rate — AI still makes mistakes; the validator catches most, not all. If you find one, tell us
Under the hood.
Four engineering decisions that separate PhonoLogic from a generic AI wrapper.
Every word is pre-mapped to its phonics patterns
A hand-curated wordbank ties each word to the exact phonics patterns a student needs to decode it. When a story is generated, every word is checked against the patterns currently in scope. Off-scope words are rewritten before the story ever reaches the page.
The model writes inside a fence we control
Every prompt to the story generator carries the patterns currently in scope plus an explicit list of patterns to avoid. The AI writes within the fence; a deterministic validator makes sure the fence held. AI generates; code verifies.
Content is filtered at three levels, not one
Prompt-level guardrails, story-level review, and a final word-level audit catch themes or vocabulary that don't belong in a child's reading practice. COPPA-aligned data handling sits underneath it all for students under 13.
Grounded in structured literacy, not hunches
The scope, sequence, heart-word list, and level progression are built from the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham methodology — the same foundation used by certified literacy interventionists. The product reflects how the research says reading is learned.
